1940s USO Christmas Show - 2005
December 9-11
Due to popular demand and the celebrated sell-out USO show of Jonesborough
Days 2005, Jonesborough Repertory Theatre welcomed back to the stage its USO
cast and crew for a 1940s USO Christmas Show. JRT hosted eight performances
for one weekend and celebrated with family and friends as WJRT
radio station took you back with 40s music, comedy and dance. They heard hits
like White Christmas; Let it Snow; Baby, It's Cold Outside; Winter Wonderland and Jingle Bells (Andrews Sisters' style) and many more.
Musical direction was led by Jennifer Schmidt accompanied by Barb Knisley on
piano, Lucas Schmidt on percussion and Josh Culvert on trumpet. Kathleen Brannon
Buttolph was the managing production director. Our guest dancers were from The
Dance Company of Johnson City, choreographed by Kristy Pratt. Technical
Direction was led by Mike Schmidt and Brian Ponder. Lighting design and direction
were by Scott Hardy of Light Impressions and costumes by Cindy Fantin of Cindy's
Home Alterations.
The cast included USO members from our Jonesborough Days performances such as
Josh Baldwin, John Beard, Kathleen Buttolph, Janette Gaines, Kim Lundin, Shelyne
Ponder, Jennifer Schmidt, Sharon Squibb, Michelle Tilley, with USO newcomers
