By the end of this workshop series, the student will have gained a working knowledge of how to audition for plays and musicals for not only local theatre companies, but professional and for college programs as well. Through practice onstage and with direction from the instructor, they will also gain confidence in their onstage presence and audition performance. The goal is not perfection, but progress in performance and confidence in making choices.

Diane Taveau has been acting since 1977. She has performed on the community theatre and summer stock stages, as well as in television and film. She was trained in the Meisner Method for 3 years at Playhouse West in Studio City, CA, under Robert Carnegie and Jeff Goldblum. She has been a member of the Screen Actors Guild since 1998. She is both an actor and a director. Her favorite roles include Diana in Next to Normal, Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd, Dr. Livingstone in Agnes of God, and Miss Hannigan in Annie. Her directing credits include but are not limited to The Sound of Music (JRT), Les Miserables, Songs for a New World, Rent, A Few Good Men, 12 Angry Men and Chicago, the Musical. Most recently she has performed as Lila in Holiday Inn and Truvy Jones in Steel Magnolias, both at JRT.
